Beazley Furlonge has its focus on writing specialty-risk insurance and reinsurance business in selected markets. Beazley manages two Lloyd's syndicates (Syndicate 2623 and Syndicate 623) with aggregate underwriting capacity in 2007 of £860m (US$1.7bn). Both syndicates share an AM Best rating A (Excellent) and also benefit from the Lloyd's chain of security.

    HISTORY

    Beazley Furlonge Ltd., the managing agency, was established in 1986 to underwrite specialist insurance products through syndicate 623. After listing on the London Stock Exchange and raising £150m, Beazley established syndicate 2623 to underwrite in parallel with 623.

    PRI Essentials
