Export Finance & Insurance Corporation (EFIC)

The Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC) is Australia’s export credit agency. EFIC supports Australian businesses internationally by providing finance, finance guarantees, insurance and bonding facilities. A self-funding, statutory corporation, EFIC operates beyond the limits of the commercial market.

Our Expertise

EFIC provides structured finance and insurance solutions, risk management services and advice, and acts as a catalyst to help clients and allies develop new markets and build private market capacity. Intensively managing risk allows EFIC to be self-sustaining in its operations.

EFIC offers the Political Risk Insurance (Equity) policy, which covers investors in the case of political events, such as expropriation, war damage or political violence, currency inconvertibility and exchange transfer blockage; and breach of contract. Cover can be for up to 100 percent of the aggregate of the amount invested, plus up to 100 percent for future growth in the investment. Policies are traditionally provided with up to 90 percent indemnity and are typically available for 10 years.
