The Export Guarantee and Insurance Corporation (EGAP) provides insurance services to all exporters of Czech goods irrespective of their size, legal form and volume of insured exports. In addition, it provides political risk insurance to Czech legal entities investing abroad. Through its subsidiary, the Commercial Credit Insurance Company EGAP (KÚP), it also provides insurance against short-term commercial risks, i.e. the risk of non-payment resulting from insolvency or protracted default of a foreign or domestic buyer. Our ExpertiseEGAP’s political risk insurance covers restriction or loss of earnings resulting from the fact that transfer to the Czech Republic has become impossible. It also covers expropriation of investments without compensation, as well as losses from politically violent acts. The premium is paid in advance for each insurance period. |

Since becoming a member of the European Union on May 1, 2004, EGAP has complied with international rules in the area of the insurance of export credits and has harmonized Czech rules in accordance to those of the European Union. |
