The Slovene Export and Development Bank Inc., formerly known as the Slovene Export Corporation, Inc., is the authorized export credit agency of Slovenia, supporting the operations of domestic companies in foreign markets. The majority shareholder of the Bank is the Republic of Slovenia. The Bank supports a wide range of activities aimed at the promotion of sales of goods and services abroad and the support of outward investment by Slovene companies.

Our Expertise

The Slovene Export and Development Bank finances international trade and investment transactions; issues guarantees for transactions of companies in foreign and domestic markets; and provides credit rating information, consulting, assistance with collection of debts and other supplementary services.

On behalf of the State, the Bank also insures export credits against non-commercial risks; outward investments against non-commercial risks; medium-term export credits against commercial risks; and short-term export credits against commercial (non-marketable) risks in non-OECD countries.

HISTORY

The Slovene Export Corporation, Inc., Ljubljana was established in 1992 as a special private financial institution for insuring and financing exports. On January 1, 2007 it formally started operating as a bank under the name Slovene Export and Development Bank Inc., Ljubljana. Under its new identity, the Bank plans to gradually upgrade and complement its activities with additional development and financial services that meet the needs of Slovene companies and banks.
